The Department of Environment on St. Kitts held a one day Data Node Workshop, Monday 10th April, 2017 at the NEMA Headquarters, Lime Kiln. The activity was held to train stakeholders on St. Kitts to upload information into a National Climate Data Node Database for St. Kitts and Nevis. The database will serve as an archive of climate change, climate variability and any other related information, which can be accessed by various departments as part of information sharing.
The Department of Environment is the St. Kitts-Nevis Focal Point for Climate Change matters. Back up storage of the information will also be done at the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) Clearing House in Belize.
The workshop was funded by the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The training was conducted by Ms. Michele Lopez, Document Management Officer and Mr. Harrison Cooper, Information Technology Technician at the Centre. Mr. Lejon James, Technician at the NEMA office, was one of the twenty (20) participants. A similar workshop was held the following day 11th April in Nevis.
